Getting started
A practical guide for founders and supporters: sign up, publish stories, create campaigns, set reward tiers, and choose funding goals.
1) Sign up (founder or supporter)
- Go to Create account and choose your role.
- Verify your email if prompted, then sign in.
- Founders start on your profile. Supporters can start browsing on Discover.
2) For founders: publish your first story
- Open Create Story.
- Write your update (what you’re building, what changed, and what you need next).
- When you’re ready, publish so the status becomes Visible.
Tip: keep posts skimmable—use a short headline, a few bullet points, and a clear call to action (follow, share, support, or reply).
3) For founders: create a campaign
- Start at Launch a campaign.
- Add a title, short tagline, and description. Save as a draft any time.
- Choose your funding type (Donation, Goal based, Subscription, or Micro investment).
- Set a goal amount when using Goal based funding (or leave it empty for donation-style campaigns).
- When it looks ready, request review (then launch when approved / ready).
4) Campaign tier (reward tiers) setup
If you choose the Reward tiers support model, you can offer multiple contribution options with clear rewards.
- Create 3–5 tiers at different price points (e.g. “Supporter”, “Early access”, “Sponsor”).
- For each tier, set a name, amount, and description.
- Optional: add estimated delivery and a limit quantity for scarcity / early bird rewards.
- Reorder tiers so the most popular option sits near the top.
5) Funding goals (how to choose)
- Donation: best for ongoing community support with no strict target.
- Goal based: set a clear target (shipping, tooling, first batch, hiring) and explain what happens if you exceed it.
- Subscription: best for recurring updates, perks, or content over time.
- Micro investment: best when you have clear terms and want to attract serious backers (share risk notes and the expected timeline).
6) For supporters: discover, follow, and support
- Browse founders on Discover.
- Read stories to understand the founder’s journey, milestones, and needs.
- Support via a campaign or the available checkout option.
- Track your activity in your Supporter dashboard (where available).
